Wholesale Bedroom Sets: What Retailers Should Check Before Ordering
October 18, 2026 · NorthLine Furnishings
Bedroom sets are a strong category for furniture retailers because one customer can buy several pieces at once. But a set has more parts to check than a single item, and a missing drawer pull or a damaged mirror can hold up a whole order. Use this checklist before you order bedroom sets wholesale.
1. Confirm exactly what is in the set
“Bedroom set” means different things to different suppliers. A set may include a bed, one or two nightstands, a dresser, a mirror and a chest, or only some of these. Before you order, confirm:
- Which pieces are included and which are optional
- Whether each piece can be bought separately
- Which bed sizes are available (for example queen and king)
- Whether the bed needs a box spring or uses slats
2. Get every size
Ask for the width, depth and height of each piece, plus the inside drawer sizes if customers are likely to ask. For beds, ask for the full outside size, not just the mattress size, because headboards and frames add length and width. Box sizes and weights help you plan your warehouse and your delivery team.
3. Look closely at finishes
Finishes such as high gloss, painted colours or metallic trim look very different in person than in photos. Ask for close-up photos or a sample, check how the finish is cleaned, and make sure all pieces in the set match. High gloss finishes show fingerprints and scratches more easily, so it helps to tell customers how to care for them.
4. Check construction and hardware
- How drawers run (for example on metal glides) and whether they have stops
- What the main materials are
- Whether any pieces need anchoring to the wall
- How much assembly is needed and whether instructions and hardware come in each box
5. Packaging, delivery and damage
A bedroom set often ships in several boxes. Ask how many boxes each piece comes in, and how they are labelled so your team can keep a set together. Agree on how damage is reported, usually with photos within a set time after delivery, and how missing or damaged parts are replaced. Mirrors and glass need extra care.
6. Plan your display
Showing a full set in a room setting helps customers picture it at home and often leads to larger orders. If floor space is limited, display the bed and one or two key pieces with photos of the full set nearby.
